Bangkok, (People’s Daily) – The Philippines Department of Health (DOH) reported 284 new coronavirus infections on Monday. The health body said 18 patients died and 45 recovered.
The country now has 4,932 COVID-19 cases, which put the Philippines ahead of Malaysia as the country with the most confirmed cases in Southeast Asia. The total deaths jumped to 315, only after Indonesia’s 373.
A study from the University of the Philippines said that coronavirus cases in the country may peak from the end of April to June, with around 140,000 to 550,000 people infected in Metro Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
