Pilot killed in Brazil plane crash

RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The pilot of a small plane died Monday after it crashed into forest in Brazil's largest city Sao Paulo.

The plane crashed en route from Jundiai, a town near Sao Paulo, to Campo de Marte airport in Sao Paulo.

The victim was identified as 42-year-old Mathias Robert Rom. When the tragedy happened, there was no passenger aboard the plane, which can carry seven people.

Rescue workers have managed to find the plane's flight recorder, which will be sent to the air force for investigation. Eight teams from the fire department have participated in the rescue operation.
