YANGON, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Myanmar police seized 1.3 million stimulant tablets in eastern Shan state, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) said on Sunday.

The seizure was made by an anti-narcotic task force in Mong Hsat town on Saturday afternoon.

Acting on tip-off, the anti-narcotic police confiscated stimulants worth 1.3 billion kyats (866,667 U.S. dollars) from a shop whose tenant is from Thailand at 2:30 p.m. local time.

An investigation into the case is underway by the local police to capture the suspect who was absent at the scene under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
