LISBON, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Portugal reported on Friday 1,516 new infection cases in the past 24 hours, the highest day-to-day increase since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total from 13,956 to 15,472, according to health authorities.

Portugal also registered 435 deaths associated with COVID-19, 26 more than on Thursday, according to the daily bulletin released by the Directorate-General for Health.
