A Portuguese citizen initially reported as dead in attacks in the south of France was in fact only seriously wounded, the Portuguese government said late Friday.

The Portuguese citizen was listed as dead due to "communication errors", secretary of state for Portuguese abroad, Jose Luis Carneiro said. "After procedures to identify the victim, it turned out that the Portuguese citizen was only seriously injured and hospitalised in Carcassonne," he said.
