Qatar reports 279 new COVID-19 cases, total 1,604, highest in a single day

Cairo (People’s Daily) - Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health reported 279 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide tally to 1,604 on Sunday.

The death toll now stands at four.

The first victim was an 88-year-old male who suffered from multiple chronic diseases.

14 full recoveries were also reported Sunday, bringing the total to 123.

The latest infections are believed to be the highest single-day increase since the pandemic started.
