Randall Schriver nominated to be assistant secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Affairs

Washington- On Oct. 27, 2017, US President Donald Trump officially nominated Randall Schriver to be Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Affairs, a key post for the country's Asia policy. 

Schriver is a senior diplomat with experiences in dealing with Asia affairs. According to the statement released by the White House, Schriver most recently served as a founding partner of Armitage International LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in international business development and strategies. 

Previously he served as deputy assistant secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 2003 to 2005, and as chief of staff and senior policy advisor to Richard Armitage, then deputy secretary of State from 2001 to 2003. 

Schriver holds a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University and bachelor's degree in history from Williams College.
