KUWAIT CITY, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The Republic of Korea (ROK) is willing to collaborate with Kuwait to help implement Kuwait vision 2035, visiting ROK Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon said on Thursday.

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Korea-Kuwait Economic Forum held at Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

"Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway which was inaugurated on Wednesday in Kuwait is a signal of a bright future," he said, hoping that the causeway would open a new era of cooperation to make Kuwait a hub for transport in the Middle East.

Kuwait's vision 2035 goal of turning the country into a financial and economic hub is similar to Korea's plan, he said, pointing out keenness of both countries to develop common ties towards a better future.

Ali Al-Ghanim, Chairman of KCCI, said that Kuwait was the first country in the region seeking help of ROK's companies and workers to contribute to the country's progress as well as carry out infrastructure projects.

There are 17 ROK's companies carrying out projects in Kuwait, he said, indicating that Kuwait is investing about 900 million U.S. dollars in ROK in oil, banking and financial fields.
