MOSCOW, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin participated Thursday in an online opening ceremony of a large pharmaceutical production facility in the country's Irkutsk region.

The facility at the BratskChemSyntez factory of the Pharmasyntez Group will produce "effective high-quality medications," including those treating tuberculosis, diabetes and hepatitis, Putin said.

He pledged to continue to support the development of high-tech pharmaceutical facilities as they contribute to the replacement of imported medicines, create jobs, and bring about greater demand for new technologies and products.

Meanwhile, Putin said the country must continue to create favorable conditions for the work of businesses and investors, for partnerships between Russian and foreign companies, and for the collaboration of researchers.
