Russia reports record daily COVID-19 cases

MOSCOW, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Russia registered 24,822 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, a new all-time high, as the pandemic worsens in the cold season, the country's COVID-19 response center said Saturday.

The national tally of cases has grown to 2,064,748, including 35,778 deaths and 1,577,435 recoveries, the center said in a statement.

Moscow, the country's worst-hit region, reported 7,168 new cases over the past day, bringing the city's total to 547,138.

So far, more than 71.8 million tests have been conducted in the country.
