Russian pilot dead after having heart attack mid-air

MOSCOW (Xinhua) -- A Russian airliner made an emergency landing at the airport of the country's southern city of Rostov-on-Don on Sunday as the co-pilot suffered a heart attack.

The plane of Russian airlines Aeroflot requested an emergency landing en route from Moscow to Russia's Black Sea resort city of Anapa when the co-pilot fell sick, TASS and RIA Novosti news agencies reported.

The co-pilot died in an ambulance.

Nobody was hurt during the emergency landing and the aircraft continued its journey after refueling.

Aeroflot expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
