Russian President Putin: We need trade peace, not trade war

Referring to the recent global trade issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, "we don't need a trade war, we need full time trade peace" at the 2018 Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday.

Putin called on multilateral cooperation for economic development in a plenary session at SPIEF, which was also attended by Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde.

SPIEF is a global business and economic event that brings global business heads, political leaders and public figures from multiple areas to discuss key economic issues.
