SEOUL, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Tuesday that he was optimistic about relations between South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) although the inter-Korean ties are faced with difficulties caused by the deadlocked dialogue between the DPRK and the United States.

Moon made the remarks during his televised New Year's press conference in the presidential Blue House.
