The US special representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, visited Pyongyang last week to work out details of the summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

South Korea's presidential office spokesman said Sunday that the US and North Korea used Biegun's trip as a chance to explain what concrete steps they want from each other.

Spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom says a follow-up US-North Korea meeting ahead of the summit will take place in a third country in Asia in the week that begins Feb. 17.
