Singapore COVID-19 cases near 3,000

Bangkok (People's Daily) - Singapore reported 386 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and one fatality on Monday, representing the largest daily increase since the outbreak began in January. The number of infections in Singapore stands at 2,918, with nine fatalities, according to the Ministry of Health.

Among the new cases, most were linked to foreign employee dormitories, with another 94 cases pending contact tracing.

Four additional clusters were identified, including company CitiWall at Kaki Bukit Crescent, ABC Hostel at Jalan Kubor, Tech Park Crescent, and Kranji dormitories.

A 65-year-old male citizen was the ninth person to die from complications related to COVID-19. The victim was diagnosed with the virus last Thursday.

So far, 26 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation facilities, while 586 have fully recovered.

At least 29 virus patients remain in critical condition and are being treated in ICU wards.
