The Spanish health ministry said on Tuesday that 849 more people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the highest daily death toll since the outbreak, taking the total number of fatalities to 8,189.  

The total coronavirus infections in Spain rose to 94,417 after 9,222 new cases were registered overnight.
