Spain’s coronavirus cases top 10,000

Spain reported 1,987 new cases of novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 11,178,  said the state-owned media on Tuesday.

The European country became the third nation outside China with coronavirus diagnoses topping 10,000, following Italy and Iran. 

The death toll from COVID-19 in Spain rose to 491, with 182 new deaths.
