Spain sees slight rise in COVID-19 deaths

MADRID, April 22 (Xinhua) -- A total of 435 people have died from COVID-19 in Spain in the last 24 hours as of 09:00 p.m. (2000 GMT) Tuesday, five more than the previous 24-hour period, authorities said Wednesday.

The Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Services said 4,211 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday, 243 more than Tuesday, with total infections rising to 208,389.

The ministry also confirmed that 21,717 people have so far died from COVID-19 in the country, while the number of recovered patients has reached 85,915.
