Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary Siddiq Abdel-Aziz urged for guaranteeing safety of the arrested student and giving him all his legal rights and not to try him through media.
He further urged for enabling the Sudanese embassy in Cairo to meet the student.
The under-secretary further stressed that the two countries are moving towards enhancing the bilateral cooperation in all fields, noting that practices that may cripple the cooperation should not be allowed.
The Egyptian ambassador promised to convey the under-secretary's message to the concerned Egyptian authorities, vowing that the Sudanese embassy in Cairo would be enabled to meet the arrested student on Sunday, the statement said.
He also promised that the student would be treated according to the law.
