Sweden plans another DPRK meeting after weekend talks

STOCKHOLM, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Sweden said it plans to host another multi-party meeting this spring to discuss the Korean Peninsular issue after representatives from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), South Korea and the United States concluded talks on Monday, local media reported Tuesday.

Special envoys from different countries concerned have been invited to attend the meeting, according to Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

Attended by DPRK Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, South Korean negotiator Lee Do-hoon, and U.S. special representative Stephen Biegun, the just finished three-day round table meeting discussed developments on the Korean Peninsula, including confidence building, economic development and long-term engagement.

Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom described the atmosphere as "good and open," saying that "It was very suitable for a more intensive phase of contact."
