Thai gov't agrees to add Dec. 30 as public holiday

BANGKOK, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Thai government on Tuesday agreed to designate Dec. 30 as an additional holiday, bringing the New Year break to a five-day holiday.

That is from Dec. 28 to Jan. 1.

Government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat announced the decision to the media after a cabinet meeting.

However, the Bank of Thailand has yet decided whether Dec. 30 will be considered a bank holiday.
