Thai rescue vehicle falls off cliff

Bangkok (People' s Daily) - A rescue van involved in the cave rescue in Chiang Rai Prefecture accidentally drove off a cliff on Saturday, with nine people on board, the Daily News of Thailand reported. 

The rescue vehicle was travelling the area in search of rescuers who had entered the cave shaft. The van then fell from a cliff. 

Currently one person is seriously injured and four others are being treated for minor injuries. They have all been sent to Meisai Hospital for treatment.

As of 21:00 local time, the other four people in the van are in the process of being rescued.
