The national coronavirus response authority on Monday decided to extend the state of emergency for another month as the curfew and other traffic restrictions have slowed the spread of disease.

The decision will be submitted to the cabinet for approval on Tuesday.

Thailand has enforced a national curfew from 10 pm to 4 am since April 3. All nationals except medics, emergency workers and personnel delivering medical supplies and patients, were urged to stay at home. There are about 1,000 checkpoints in the country.

The Thai government has restricted traffic and activities to control the pandemic, and banned people from entering the country until April 30 and only allows the entry of authorized citizens, which are subject to a 14-day quarantine after arriving.
