The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,956,621 with the global confirmed cases reaching 137,214,213 as of 10:00 am BJT on Wednesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 563,428 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 31,344,324 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Wednesday.
India has confirmed a total of 13,689,453 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 171,058.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 13,599,994 with 358,425 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
France has recorded 5,167,265 confirmed cases and 99,639 deaths.
Russia has confirmed 4,605,444 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 101,882.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,390,797, with the number of deaths at 127,369, according to the JHU virus tracker.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,455 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 3,962,760.
A total of 3,793,033 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 115,088.
It is followed by Spain with 76,625 deaths from 3,376,548 infections.
Germany has reported 3,040,356 COVID-19 cases and 78,924 deaths from the virus so far.
