The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,984,263 with the global confirmed cases reaching 138,835,210 as of 11:00 am BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 565,283 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 31,495,164 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 11:00 am BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 14,074,564 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 173,123.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 13,746,618 with 365,444 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 5,248,853 confirmed cases and 102,232 deaths.

Russia has confirmed 4,622,464 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 102,667.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 4,396,096, with the number of deaths at 127,438, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 35,031 lives in Turkey, bringing the total number of infections to 4,086,957.

A total of 3,826,156 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 115,937.

It is followed by Spain with 76,882 deaths from 3,396,685 infections.

Germany has reported 3,095,016 COVID-19 cases and 79,520 deaths from the virus so far.
