Globally, as of 2:00am CEST on Sunday, there have been 2,810,325 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 193,825 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 54,877 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 965,933, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:31 pm BJT on Monday.

Spain has recorded 226,629 confirmed cases and 23,190 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has infected 197,675 in Italy, with the death toll at 26,644.

France's confirmed cases have increased to 162,220, with the number of deaths at 22,890, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Germany with 5,976 deaths from 157,770 infections.

A total of 154,037 people in the UK have tested positive for COVID-19, with the number of deaths increasing to 20,795, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Turkey has confirmed a total of 110,130 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 2,805.

Iran has reported 90,481 COVID-19 cases and 5,710 deaths from the virus so far.

There have been 80,949 who tested positive for COVID-19 and 747 who have died from the virus in Russia.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 63,100, with 4,286 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
