The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 4,347,218 with the global confirmed cases reaching 206,338,217 as of 7 pm BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 621,036 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 36,600,463 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 32,156,493 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 430,732.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 20,319,000 with 567,862 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 6,471,262 confirmed cases and 112,705 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 166,795 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 6,490,421.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 6,241,447 with the number of deaths at 131,116, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Turkey has confirmed 6,039,827 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 52,860.

It is followed by Argentina with 108,815 deaths from 5,074,725 infections.

Colombia has reported 4,860,622 COVID-19 cases and 123,221 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 4,693,540 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 82,470.
