The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 4,288,090 with the global confirmed cases reaching 202,351,217 as of 7 pm BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 616,719 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 35,741,304 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 31,934,455 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 427,862.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 20,151,779 with 562,752 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 162,109 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 6,362,641.

France has recorded 6,530,899 confirmed cases and 112,379 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 6,070,873 with the number of deaths at 130,585, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Turkey has confirmed 5,895,841 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 52,088.

It is followed by Argentina with 107,302 deaths from 5,012,754 infections.

Colombia has reported 4,834,634 COVID-19 cases and 122,277 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 4,588,132 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 82,006.
