The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 4,301,090 with the global confirmed cases reaching 203,258,201 as of 9:00 am BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 617,303 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 35,937,086 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 31,969,954 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 428,309.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 20,165,672 with 563,151 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia confirmed 22,160 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 6,384,195, the official monitoring and response center said Monday.

France has recorded 6,373,825 confirmed cases and 112,421 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 6,123,007 with the number of deaths at 130,667, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Turkey on Monday registered 23,731 new COVID-19 cases, raising its tally of infections to 5,942,271, according to its health ministry.

It is followed by Argentina with 107,961 deaths from 5,029,075 infections.

Colombia has reported 4,843,007 COVID-19 cases and 122,601 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 4,627,770 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 82,125.

Canada reported 1,203 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, raising the cumulative total to 1,442,087 cases, including 26,678 deaths, according to CTV.
