The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 4,304,230 with the global confirmed cases reaching 203,443,396 as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 617,321 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 35,948,214 infections.

India has confirmed a total of 31,998,158 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 428,682.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 20,177,757 with 563,562 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 163,629 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 6,404,960.

France has recorded 6,375,268 confirmed cases and 112,430 deaths.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 6,123,173 with the number of deaths at 130,667, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Turkey has confirmed 5,942,241 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 52,313.

It is followed by Argentina with 107,961 deaths from 5,029,075 infections.

Colombia has reported 4,843,007 COVID-19 cases and 122,601 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 4,627,770 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 82,125.
