The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 4,315,873 with the global confirmed cases reaching 204,099,013 as of 6 pm BJT on Wednesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
Current status (data as of 6 pm BJT, Aug 11):
The outbreak has now claimed 618,137 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 36,055,274 infections.
India has confirmed a total of 32,036,511 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 429,179.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 20,212,642 with 564,773 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 164,413 lives in Russia, bringing the total number of infections to 6,425,918.
France has recorded 6,407,288 confirmed cases and 112,575 deaths.
The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 6,146,642 with the number of deaths at 130,813, according to the JHU virus tracker.
Turkey has confirmed 5,968,838 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 52,437.
It is followed by Argentina with 108,165 deaths from 5,041,487 infections.
Colombia has reported 4,846,955 COVID-19 cases and 122,768 deaths from the virus so far.
A total of 4,643,450 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 82,227.
