Globally, as of 2:22 pm CEST on Monday, there have been 23,311,719 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 806,410 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 177,279 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 5,740,909, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 4:28 pm BJT on Tuesday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 3,622,861. The death toll grew to 115,309.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 3,167,323. The death toll grew to 58,390.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 963,655 with 16,524 deaths.

It is followed by South Africa with 611,450 infections and 13,159 deaths, Peru with 600,438 infections and 27,813 deaths, Mexico with 563,705 cases and 60,800 deaths, Colombia with 551,688 cases and 17,612 deaths and Spain with 405,436 cases and 28,872 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Chile have increased to 399,568 with 10,916 deaths.
