Globally, as of 3:32 pm CEST on Wednesday, there have been 23,752,965 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 815,038 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 179,735 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 5,822,927, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:28 pm BJT on Thursday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 3,717,156. The death toll grew to 117,665.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 3,310,234. The death toll grew to 60,472.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 968,297 with 16,638 deaths.

It is followed by South Africa with 615,701 infections and 13,502 deaths, Peru with 607,382 infections and 28,001 deaths, Mexico with 573,888 cases and 62,076 deaths, Colombia with 572,243 cases and 18,184 deaths and Spain with 419,849 cases and 28,971 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Chile have increased to 402,365 with 10,990 deaths.
