Globally, as of 1:04 pm CEST on Tuesday, there have been 18,142,718 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 691,013 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 156,771 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 4,768,827, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:34 pm BJT on Wednesday.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 2,801,921. The death toll grew to 95,819.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 1,855,745. The death toll grew to 38,938.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 859,762 with 14,327 deaths.

It is followed by South Africa with 521,318 infections and 8,884 deaths, Mexico with 449,961 infections and 48,869 deaths, Peru with 433,100 cases and 19,811 deaths and Chile with 362,962 cases and 9,745 deaths.

Colombia’s confirmed cases have increased to 327,850, with the number of deaths at 11,017, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Iran have increased to 314,786 with 17,617 deaths.
