Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Friday, there have been 68,165,877 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,557,385 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 297,272 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 15,865,395 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 9,767,371 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 141,772.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 6,781,799 with 179,765 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has recorded 2,546,113 confirmed cases and 44,769 deaths.

France has confirmed 2,391,643 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 57,044.

The UK has reported 1,792,605 COVID-19 cases and 63,179 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Italy with 62,626 deaths from 1,787,147 infections.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 47,344 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,720,056.

A total of 1,482,216 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 40,431.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,399,911, with the number of deaths at 38,484, according to the JHU virus tracker.
