The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,596,108 with the global confirmed cases reaching 71,148,364 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Saturday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 295,522 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 15,851,014, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 5:30 pm BJT on Saturday.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 9,826,775. The death toll grew to 142,628.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 6,836,227. The death toll grew to 180,437.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 2,602,048 with 45,923 deaths.
It is followed by France with 2,405,210 infections and 57,671 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,814,395 infections and 63,603 deaths, Italy with 1,805,873 cases and 63,387 deaths, Turkey with 1,780,673 cases and 15,977 deaths and Spain with 1,730,575 cases and 47,624 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Argentina have increased to 1,489,328 with 40,606 deaths.
