Globally, as of 7 pm BJT on Tuesday, there have been 71,051,805 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,608,648 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 305,354 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 16,717,899 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 7 pm BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total of 9,906,165 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 143,709.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 6,927,145 with 181,835 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 2,682,866 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 47,410.

France has recorded 2,433,859 confirmed cases and 58,391 deaths.

It is followed by the UK with 64,500 deaths from 1,874,867 infections.

Turkey's confirmed cases have increased to 1,866,345, with the number of deaths at 16,646, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 65,011 lives in Italy, bringing the total number of infections to 1,855,737.

A total of 1,751,884 people in Spain have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 48,013.

Argentina has reported 1,503,222 COVID-19 cases and 41,041 deaths from the virus so far.
