Globally, as of 7:08 pm CET, 1 December 2020, there have been 62,844,837 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,465,144 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 270,691 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 13,726,306 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday.

India has confirmed a total of 9,499,413 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 138,122.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 6,386,787 with 173,817 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 2,327,105 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 40,630.

France has recorded 2,275,429 confirmed cases and 52,821 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 45,511 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,656,444.

The UK has reported 1,647,230 COVID-19 cases and 59,148 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Italy with 56,361 deaths from 1,620,901 infections.

A total of 1,432,570 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 38,928.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,324,792, with the number of deaths at 36,934, according to the JHU virus tracker.
