The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,756,584 with the global confirmed cases reaching 80,282,523 as of 9:22 am BJT on Sunday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 331,754 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 18,943,541.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,169,118. The death toll grew to 147,343.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,465,806. The death toll grew to 190,795.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 2,992,123 with 53,539 deaths.

It is followed by France with 2,607,688 infections and 62,694 deaths, United Kingdom with 2,262,735 infections and 70,513 deaths, Turkey with 2,133,373 cases and 19,624 deaths, Italy with 2,038,759 cases and 71,620 deaths and Spain with 1,854,951 cases and 49,824 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 1,646,240 with 29,666 deaths.
