The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,439,834 with the global confirmed cases reaching 110,270,288 as of 9:00 am BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 9:00 am BJT, Feb 19):

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 492,809 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 27,893,357.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,950,201. The death toll grew to 156,014.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,030,626. The death toll grew to 243,457.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UK have increased to 4,095,157 with 119,614 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 4,079,407 and 80,587 deaths, France with 3,596,156 infections and 83,542 deaths, Spain with 3,121,687 cases and 66,704 deaths, Italy with 2,765,412 cases and 94,887 deaths and Turkey with 2,616,600 cases and 27,821 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,372,209 with 66,951 deaths.
