The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,443,302 with the global confirmed cases reaching 110,377,466 as of 7:30 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Thailand is expecting to receive the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines from China's Sinovac Biotech next week and kick-start its national inoculation program.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Brazil surpassed 10 million on Thursday as tests detected 51,879 new cases in the previous 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.

China will donate 30,000 anti-coronavirus vaccines doses to Montenegro, the Chinese Embassy in that country confirmed in a press release on Thursday.

The confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 10,614 in the past 24 hours to 1,263,299, with the death toll adding by 183 to 34,152, the country's Health Ministry said on Friday.

Turkey began inoculating prisoners against COVID-19 across the country, the ministry of justice said on Friday.
