The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,238,785 with the global confirmed cases reaching 103,435,830 as of 6:00 pm BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 6:00 pm BJT, Feb 2):

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 443,355 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 26,321,163, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 6:00 pm BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,766,245. The death toll grew to 154,486.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 9,229,322. The death toll grew to 225,099.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UK have increased to 3,846,851 with 106,774 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 3,825,739 infections and 72,456 deaths, France with 3,260,308 infections and 76,657 deaths, Spain with 2,822,805 cases and 59,081 deaths, Italy with 2,560,957 cases and 88,845 deaths and Turkey with 2,485,182 cases and 26,117 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,232,327 with 58,019 deaths.
