The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,466,873 with the global confirmed cases reaching 111,391,447 as of 4:24 pm BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 498,897 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 28,134,143.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 11,005,850. The death toll grew to 156,385.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,168,174. The death toll grew to 246,504.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 4,130,447 with 81,926 deaths.

It is followed by UK with 4,127,574 infections and 120,810 deaths, France with 3,597,540 infections and 83,546 deaths, Spain with 3,133,122 cases and 67,101 deaths, Italy with 2,809,246 cases and 95,718 deaths and Turkey with 2,638,422 cases and 28,060 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,394,515 with 67,946 deaths.
