The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,253,684 with the global confirmed cases reaching 103,897,537 as of 5:00 pm BJT on Wednesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 446,885 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 26,435,563, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 5:00 pm BJT on Wednesday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,777,284. The death toll grew to 154,596.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 9,283,418. The death toll grew to 226,309.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UK have increased to 3,863,757 with 108,225 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 3,842,145 infections and 72,982 deaths, France with 3,283,645 infections and 77,383 deaths, Spain with 2,851,869 cases and 59,805 deaths, Italy with 2,570,608 cases and 89,344 deaths and Turkey with 2,492,977 cases and 26,237 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,240,118 with 58,992 deaths.
