The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,270,774 with the global confirmed cases reaching 104,468,800 as of 6:22 pm BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 450,805 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 26,557,354.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,790,183. The death toll grew to 154,703.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 9,339,420. The death toll grew to 227,563.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UK have increased to 3,882,972 with 109,547 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 3,874,830 infections and 74,005 deaths, France with 3,310,051 infections and 77,741 deaths, Spain with 2,883,465 cases and 60,370 deaths, Italy with 2,583,790 cases and 89,820 deaths and Turkey with 2,501,079 cases and 26,354 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,254,523 with 59,776 deaths.
