The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,285,354 with the global confirmed cases reaching 104,908,860 as of 4:22 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 455,869 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 26,679,555.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,802,591. The death toll grew to 154,823.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 9,396,293. The death toll grew to 228,795.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in UK have increased to 3,903,706 with 110,462 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 3,891,274 infections and 74,520 deaths, France with 3,310,071 infections and 77,741 deaths, Spain with 2,913,425 cases and 60,802 deaths, Italy with 2,597,446 cases and 90,241 deaths and Turkey with 2,508,988 cases and 26,467 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,265,536 with 60,634 deaths.
