The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,818,759 with the global confirmed cases reaching 83,474,757 as of 5 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 345,826 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 19,974,122.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,286,709. The death toll grew to 148,994.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,675,973. The death toll grew to 194,949.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,127,347 with 56,271 deaths.
It is followed by France with 2,677,666 infections and 64,759 deaths, United Kingdom with 2,496,231 infections and 73,622 deaths, Turkey with 2,208,652 cases and 20,881 deaths, Italy with 2,107,166 cases and 74,159 deaths and Spain with 1,928,265 cases and 50,837 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 1,760,520 with 33,791 deaths.
