The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,976,192 with the global confirmed cases reaching 92,272,647 as of 10:00 am BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed 384,343 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 23,053,424 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10:00 am BJT on Thursday.

India has confirmed a total of 10,495,147 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 151,529.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 8,256,536 with 205,964 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 3,434,934 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 62,463.

The UK's confirmed cases have increased to 3,220,939, with the number of deaths at 84,909, according to the JHU virus tracker.

France has recorded 2,888,292 confirmed cases and 69,168 deaths.

It is followed by Turkey with 23,325 deaths from 2,355,839 infections.

A total of 2,319,036 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 80,326.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 52,878 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 2,176,089.

Germany has reported 1,981,013 COVID-19 cases and 43,604 deaths from the virus so far.
