The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,995,273 with the global confirmed cases reaching 93,158,547 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Friday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 388,692 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 23,313,101, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 5:30 pm BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,527,683. The death toll grew to 151,918.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,324,294. The death toll grew to 207,095.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,483,531 with 63,558 deaths.

It is followed by UK with 3,269,757 infections and 86,163 deaths, France with 2,909,723 infections and 69,452 deaths, Turkey with 2,364,801 cases and 23,495 deaths, Italy with 2,336,279 cases and 80,848 deaths and Spain with 2,211,967 cases and 53,079 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,015,235 with 45,209 deaths.
