The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 2,029,808 with the global confirmed cases reaching 94,994,496 as of 9:30 am BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 397,494 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 23,923,062, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:30 am BJT on Monday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 10,557,985. The death toll grew to 152,274.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,488,099. The death toll grew to 209,847.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 3,530,379 with 64,601 deaths.

It is followed by UK with 3,405,710 infections and 89,427 deaths, France with 2,969,091 infections and 70,422 deaths, Turkey with 2,387,101 cases and 23,997 deaths, Italy with 2,381,277 cases and 82,177 deaths and Spain with 2,252,164 cases and 53,314 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany have increased to 2,050,129 with 46,781 deaths.
